KEOKI FLAGG, CO-OWNER OF GALLERY KEOKI
Over the past 15 years Keoki Flagg has developed his unique photographic perspective while shooting national editorial photography for Ski and Skiing Magazine, National Geographic Adventure, Men’s Journal, Vogue, Powder, Audubon, Outside, Sports Illustrated for Women, Warren Miller and VISA USA.
He is known for his innovative techniques and methodology behind his artistic vision, which is often characterized by a very strong sense of place and scale. “Perspective is everything,” said Flagg.  “I want to share the many magic moments I have been fortunate enough to see and capture on film. When I can view the world through someone’s eyes and show an insight or captivating moment from their perspective – then I’m successful. Squaw Valley is my base camp.  Tahoe is the ultimate pallet, not only because of its obvious natural beauty and dramatically changing seasons, but most importantly because of the free thinking individuals and world-class athletes who call it home.” Following Flagg’s early childhood dreams of becoming an artist, he studied a variety of mediums including, ceramics, sculpture and mixed media.  He first studied in Honolulu and later at Connecticut College where he graduated with honors distinction in Studio Art before traveling the world.  In November of 2003, Flagg and international art dealer, Mark Steingard, opened Gallery Keoki, located in the Village at Squaw Valley USA. With a sophisticated mélange of modern masters, local color and extreme sports the gallery brings an unprecedented caliber of artwork and experience in the art world to the Tahoe Basin.
